Caustic Studio was founded to close a gap most litigation teams run into eventually: the facts of a case are often too complex, too fast, or too invisible for a jury to fully grasp from testimony alone. A failure sequence that takes a fraction of a second. A trajectory that depends on angles no photograph captured. A mechanism buried inside a wall or a body.
Our background is in visual effects for film, years spent building photorealistic worlds that audiences believe without question. We apply that same rigor to the courtroom, where the standard isn't just believability, it's admissibility. Every reconstruction is built from the case record, including depositions, expert reports, scene data, and physics, so what the jury sees satisfies the rules of evidence and holds up under cross-examination.
Max Hulburt has also spent 11 years teaching animation and game development at the university level, and currently chairs a BFA program. Teaching is the daily work of making technical material clear to people seeing it for the first time. A jury is the same audience: attentive, capable, and new to the subject. That experience shapes every decision we make about what to show, in what order, and what to leave out. It also means that when opposing counsel asks how the work was built, we can walk the court through it step by step.
